"As a kid, I loved animals. And I lived in a little town called Mission, South Dakota. My mother and I lived at a hotel which was a two-story building, which was the tallest building in Mission. My father died when I was only 6-years-old. And this town was only 200 people. And so when mom was looking for me, she'd go up, there was a ladder up to the top of the hotel and she'd look for the dogs. I always had a pack of dogs with me. She'd see the dogs, well, there was Billy. I was called Billy in those days."
